Demolition Best Practice Project under $1M - 2019
This award is for Demolition Projects under $1M and was won for the demolition of the Christchurch District Health Board's Diabetes Building on Hagley Avenue. This project involved soft strip, cut and crane demolition and high reach excavator demolition. It was a technically challenging job due to its proximity to other hospital buildings and the fact that there was a large oxygen storage tank located adjacent to the building.
Environmental Award - 2018
Taggart won the CCNZ Environmental Award in recognition of environmental elements across Glassworks, Wairewa Canal Bridge Site works and the Tui Stand Demolition. On the redevelopment of the former Crown Crystal Glassworks, the site was managed so the contaminated material was able to be safely contained on-site. The Wairewa Canal Bridge project we had to be conscious of native and endangered wildlife that live in the area. When demolishing the Tui Stand at Lancaster Park we achieved a 99.8% recycle rate.
